“Freedom of speech and of the press lay at the foundation of all democratic organizations, for without free political discussion no public education, so essential for the proper functioning of the processes of popular government, is possible.” - Justice Patanjali Shastri Indian film industry has been under fire recently due to ban imposed on some films which created breach of peace and harmony in the society. There seems to be political interference in getting the films released either without any cuts or with cuts as per their whims and fancies by way of pressurising the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) which is the only regulatory body put in place to censor the scenes which they consider to be objectionable.
